3D Reinforced Concrete Column

The reinforced concrete column described here corresponds to the example 'Zweiachsig beanspruchte Hallenstütze mit abgestuftem Querschnitt' (Two-axis Loaded Hall Column with Staged Section) from the Betonkalender 1997, Part I, page 526 ff. Thus, a detailed description of the system measurements and loads is not included.

First, the linear internal forces are determined and the design is carried out according to DIN 1045:

The ultimate limit state check carried out subsequently for the computed reinforcement (1.75 times the load, no reinforcement increase) yields a limit load factor of 0.48 < 1.0.

If reinforcement increase has been activated, the existing reinforcement is raised until a buckling load factor of 1.0 is reached while taking the permitted strain into account.
